Clemence Due and I have recently published findings from our survey research with Australian parents of gender variant children. You can read the full paper here. Also of interest may be a resource for schools developed by Natalya Giffney and myself. We use  this document when meeting with schools to support gender variant children – it includes a basic overview of gender variance, some tips on language, and a list of resources.

Three recent Australian media reports may also be of interest. The first of these is a  60 Minutes story focusing on the life of Emma and her family, providing insights as to the experiences of gender variant children in Australia.

The second is an episode of Insight focusing on transgender young people

Finally, there is a great new short feature produced by the Gender Centre
